A Danforth Jewish Circle co-sponsored event with A Room of Your Own Book Club.

Please join Rabbi Miriam Margles in conversation with author Meg Wiviott to discuss her book Paper Hearts. This novel is based on the true story of teenage girls, Fania and Zlatka, in 1944 Auschwitz. A forbidden gift helps two teenage girls find hope, friendship, and the will to live in this “beautifully told true story about brave young women who refused to be victims and walked out of Auschwitz with their heads unbowed” (School Library Journal).

The gift of the paper heart is one of the few objects created in Auschwitz, and can be seen today in the Montreal Holocaust Memorial Centre.

PLEASE NOTE: There is a maximum capacity of 50 guests for this event, so please RSVP!
