When we examine some of the major challenges that mankind faces in the 21st century — human health challenges, feeding an ever-increasing world population and environmental pressures — it’s easy to become depressed if not for ourselves, then certainly for our children. There are, however, powerful reasons to be optimistic. We are entering in to a terrifically exciting fourth industrial revolution that incorporates the third industrial revolution (digital and informational technologies) with new knowledge in biology/genomics. This “revolution” promises to provide critical solutions to some of humanities most serious problems. Dr. Mark J. Poznansky is the President and CEO of Ontario Genomics.
