A Temple Sinai Program: Post-Holocaust Jewish Thought with Rabbi Lawrence Englander

Our history includes various periods of persecution, from the Babylonian Exile to the Roman massacres, the Crusades and Eastern European pogroms. The Holocaust, besides being the most recent period of collective suffering, also presents some new challenges to our beliefs in God, Torah and Israel. We will discuss: Was God absent during the Holocaust? Is the Holocaust a unique event in history, or is it yet another example of human cruelty? What is the task of the Jewish people in the world, especially after the creation of the State of Israel?

Time: 7:00 p.m.
Cost: Members: Free; Non-Members: $5 per session.
