A Temple Sinai Program: Repairing World Omer Study
Saturdays, May 9, 16, 23 from 11.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. with our clergy
The period of the Omer marks the time between Passover, the Israelites’ exodus from Egypt, and Shavuot, the moment when the Torah was revealed to us at Mount Sinai. During this time of study and reflection and as a starting point to our discussion, we draw on the insights from the book There is No Messiah and You’re It: The Stunning Transformation of Judaism’s Most Provocative Idea, by Rabbi Robert N. Levine, D.D. A challenge to each of us to take personal responsibility for repairing the world: We are taught that every one of us is created in the divine image. All of us can be holy through imitating God. You don’t have to wait for someone to come and do what you were put on this earth to do. Judaism empowers you as one of God’s anointed ones to do more than you ever dreamed possible. — from Chapter 1
