A Temple Sinai Program: The Mishnah Key to the Treasure of Oral Torah — The Pilgrimage Festivals
Series with Rabbi Lawrence Englander

Most of what we observe in Judaism today comes not from the Bible but from what we call the Oral Torah, composed by the ancient rabbis. In this course, we will discover the traditions developed around the three pilgrimage festivals: Pesach, Shavuot and Sukkot. In particular, we’ll discuss: How the Pesach Seder developed. Why is the number four so prominent? How is Shavuot connected with the revelation at Mt. Sinai, since no mention of this is in the Torah? How do the lulav and etrog symbolize our Jewish identity? Time: 7:00 p.m. Cost: Session: Members: Free; Non-Members: $5. Register online at www.templesinai.net, call the Temple Office at 416-487-4161 or email programs@templesinai.net. 210 Wilson Avenue
