In His Parents’ Footsteps on a Path of His Own – Ben Dunkelman
Benjamin (Ben) Dunkelman (1913–1997) was a decorated Canadian military officer, Israeli army commander, entrepreneur, art gallery owner, restaurateur, a founding member of Toronto’s Island Yacht Club, and one-time heir to the Tip Top Tailors business.
In this extraordinary lecture, Michael Brown will discuss the life of Ben Dunkelman. Michael was a founder of the Jewish Studies Program at York University, one of the first such programs in Canada, where he continues to teach today. He holds degrees from Harvard and Columbia universities, the Jewish Theological Seminary of America, and the State University of New York at Buffalo.
