Strategies for Managing Impulsivity and Building Resilience

Dr. Susan Hopkins, Executive Director of The MEHRIT Centre (TMC), will introduce attendees to Shanker Self-Reg®, which offers a fresh perspective on parenting and new strategies for managing your children's impulsivity and helping them build resilience. She brings a wealth of experience to her talk. She has been an educator, school administrator, special ed teacher, inclusive schooling coordinator, curriculum developer, researcher and government consultant.

In her talk, she will provide Self-Reg strategies that promote resilience and well-being at home and in the classroom and will answer these questions:
What are the differences between self-regulation and self-control?
What are the differences between stress behaviour and misbehaviour?
How do you recognize and respond to stress behaviour?
