Rev. Dr. Karen Hamilton is the co-Chair of the Parliament of World’s Religions which will welcome 10,000 participants to Toronto in November, 2018. She served as General Secretary, Canadian Council of Churches and as the Senior Minister of St. James-Bond United Church in Toronto. She was one of the leaders of the Path of Abraham missions in 2011 and 2014 and, along with Rav Baruch, will be on the faculty of the multi-faith ”Sharing Perspectives” program in March 2019, based in St George’s College, Jerusalem.

Panelists

Amir Hussain is Professor of Theological Studies at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. His particular speciality is the study of contemporary Muslim societies in North America. His academic degrees are all from the University of Toronto where he received a number of awards, including the university’s highest award for alumni service. Dr Hussain holds the distinction of being the only male to serve as Dean of Women at University College.

Reid B. Locklin is Associate Professor of Christianity and the Intellectual Tradition at the University of Toronto.His research focuses on a range of issues in Comparative Theology and Hindu-Christian Studies. Dr. Locklin grew up in Athens, Georgia and received his PhD in Theology from Boston College in 2003. He has been a Fellow of the Martin Marty Center for the Public Understanding of Religion at the Divinity School of the University of Chicago and has taught at the University of Toronto since 2004.

Rabbi David Rosen, former Chief Rabbi of Ireland, is the International Director of Interreligious Affairs of the American Jewish Committee. He is past chair of the International Jewish Committee for Interreligious Consultations, a member of the Chief Rabbinate of Israel’s Commission for Interreligious Dialogue, serves on the Executive of the World Council of Religious Leaders and has served as a member of the Executive Committee of the World Congress of Imams and Rabbis. Rabbi Rosen was a member of the Bilateral Commission of the State of Israel and the Holy See that led to the establishment of full relations in 1994. He has been honoured by the Vatican, the Queen of England and the Archbishop of Canterbury.
