Daughter of Holocaust survivors, Deborah Vadas Levison grew up in Toronto where she attended the Royal Conservatory of Music and the University of Toronto. Since relocating to Connecticut, USA, she has been published in local, regional and national media. She is the recipient of the prestigious Award of Excellence from the Society of Professional Journalists. Ms. Levison is also active in several charitable projects and is the winner of the A. O. Samuels Young Leadership Award.
Her book, THE CRATE, is equal parts detective story, history lesson, and family memoir, each searing in its own telling. The author’s parents survived the Holocaust, only to find that their cottage holds a dark secret nailed up in a hidden crate. What follows from that discovery is the tale of their survival, the rippling effects of violence, and the devastation wrought by a modern-day murder.
