Bret Stephens is an op-ed columnist with The New York Times and winner of the 2013 Pulitzer Prize for distinguished commentary and a 2019 Ellis Island Medal of Honor. He has previously worked as foreign-affairs columnist for the Wall Street Journal and editor-in-chief of The Jerusalem Post. He is the author of "America in Retreat: The New Isolationism and the Coming Global Disorder." He was raised in Mexico City and lives with his family in an old farmhouse in New York state.
