The Schwartz/Reisman Centre and the Toronto Jewish Film Foundation invite you to an exclusive launch of the Film Under the Stars series

This year will feature the acclaimed film "The Band's Visit;" a comedy-drama film, directed and written by Eran Kolir This international co-production between Israel, France and the United States stars Saleh Bakri, Ronit Elkabetz, Sasson Gabai and Uri Gavriel.

 

 

Movie Summary (rated PG):

A brass band comprised of members of the Egyptian police force head to Israel to play at the inaugural ceremony of an Arab arts center. But due to bureaucracy, bad luck, or for whatever reason, find themselves stranded in a desolate, almost forgotten, small Israeli town, somewhere in the heart of the desert.

The film will be screened in Hebrew with English subtitles.

This is a free event, however registration is required.
