As part of Rabbi Baruch Frydman-Kohl's retirement celebrations, Justice Rosalie Silverman Abella of the Supreme Court of Canada and Justice Dorit Beinisch, retired President of the Israeli Supreme Court, have agreed to participate in a dialogue about the role of judges in the preservation of democracy. They will consider the question of the boundaries of “religious accommodation” in a democracy that seeks to sustain a commitment to human rights. These are subjects of great interest to Canadians as well as to Israelis.
