DNA: Tools for the Next Steps
Speaker: Nancy Trimble
VIRTUAL MEETING: View from home
Sunday, 31 January 2021
at 10:30 a.m.
Nancy Trimble is a Canadian Genealogist who began dabbling in her family history when she was a teenager using snail mail, microfilm, and many hours in library research rooms. Today she has embraced the world of technology and applied each new electronic tool as it came along.
Nancy is Past President of Ontario Ancestors (The Ontario Genealogical Society) and spent 12 years on the Board of Directors. She is currently the Chair of the Durham Region Branch of Ontario Ancestors.
Nancy will share with you some key things you need to know when working with the most widely used genealogical companies (Ancestry, Family Tree DNA (FTDNA), My Heritage, GEDmatch and DNAPainter). She will discuss Match Lists, centimorgans (cM), chromosome browsers and other useful tools. You will acquire enough information to easily implement some of the next steps in utilizing your DNA matches.
