With each passing year, younger generations bear a greater responsibility to preserve the testimony of Holocaust Survivors.
Netivot HaTorah is the first and only Canadian school to participate in a unique project, Names, Not Numbers©: A Lasting Way to Teach the Lessons of the Holocaust. This interactive, multi-media Holocaust project was created by educator, Tova Fish-Rosenberg.
Starting at the beginning of the school year, grade eight students will be working with professionals, including a Holocaust educator, Jewish studies teacher, newspaper journalist and filmmaker on the production of a Holocaust documentary film titled Names, Not Numbers©: A Movie in the Making.
The film tells the personal stories of Holocaust Survivors and touches on the individual’s life before the war, as well as his/her experiences during and immediately following the Holocaust.
The documentary is premiered to the public, and archived for future generations in The National Library of Israel in Jerusalem and in The Mendel Gottesman Library Of Yeshiva University.
