Philosophy of God With Rabbi Louis J. Sachs
Over the course of 8 sessions, we will examine various texts and scholars to explore different ways to think about
God. From classical Jewish sources such as the Tanakh, Talmud, and Siddur, to modern Jewish philosophers such as Martin Buber, Mordecai Kaplan, and David Hartman. This class will touch on a wide range of questions, including:
Does God Exist?
Can we know God on a personal level?
Why does God “permit” Evil to exist?
Does God answer prayers?
What are the limits (if any) of God’s power?
How to talk about God with our children or grandchildren.
Please join us as we learn, discuss, and together develop our personal theologies.
