Temple Sinai Stories: Jewish Life in Japan (1930-1945) with Temple Sinai member Dr. Tony Fattal

Join Dr. Tony Fattal, born in 1942 in Kobe, Japan and learn how the Mizrachi, Sephardi and Ashkenazi communities settled and coexisted in Japan. Dr. Fattal will share his family’s own migration story and how they experienced living in Japan. With the rise of Nazism and outbreak of World War II Dr. Fattal will also explore why Japan became a refuge for Jews during the Holocaust and how Jews were treated in this new community.
