In the second webinar, Matthew Friedberg, a lawyer specializing in criminal law, and Diana Vasilescu, a family law lawyer, will discuss the legal ramifications of abuse, including what happens when a person in an abusive situation calls the police and proceeds through the legal system.
Matthew Friedberg is a criminal defence lawyer who regularly represents individuals charged with extremely serious offences. Many of his cases have been the subject of media attention. He has had particular success defending persons accused of homicide, sexual asssault, domestic assault, drug and firearms offences.
Mr. Friedberg graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1995. He has a history of participation with the Canadian Bar Association and Law Society of Ontario mentor program and regularly mentors junior lawyers in criminal law.
Diana Vasilescu obtained her law degree from McGill University Faculty of Law in 2012. She represents clients in relation to child support and spousal support claims, access and custody claims, property division and adoptions. Diana is dedicated to assisting her clients by providing effective, reliable and affordable legal services and has experience in negotiating, mediating and litigating complex family law issues.
