Franklin Bialystok teaches in the Centres for Canadian, Jewish, and Diaspora/Transnational Studies at the University of Toronto. His book, Delayed Impact: The Holocaust and the Canadian Jewish Community (2000) is based on his Doctoral Dissertation at York University. It received the Tannenbaum Award for Canadian Jewish History, and was nominated by the Canadian Historical Association and The Governor-General Non Fiction awards.
This presentation will outline Franklin’s current project, The Jews of Canada: Settlement, Adaptation and Diversity, a history of Canada’s Jews to be published by the University of Toronto Press.
