Israeli Shabbat and Shabbat Itanu
It’s a double celebration at The Song Shul!
Israeli Shabbat is in honour of Yom HaAtzma’ut, and Cantor Simon and the Toronto Festival Singers lead a most magnificent musical a cappella davening with popular Israeli melodies. Anyone can sing a prayer to a different melody, but the vocal arrangements of the Toronto Festival Singers add a whole new dimension and provide a bed of harmony on which to rest our words. It’s a beautiful way to bring Israel into our prayers, and an easy way to sing along!
Toronto’s Shabbat Itanu is “Inclusion Shabbat”. The Song Shul is always inclusive, of course, but on this Shabbat we honour the members of The Song Shul’s Special Voices choir.
Join us and celebrate! All welcome!
