Broken and Whole: Remembering Yesterday and Living for Tomorrow
Tisha B’Av ends a three-week period of mourning for the Jewish people, and this day itself commemorates some of the greatest communal tragedies our people have faced throughout history. The destruction of the First and Second Temple, the defeat of the Bar Kochba revolt, and more.
Join us as we study some texts to see what our tradition has to say about remembering the suffering of our people and experiencing their pain and yet at the same time living with hope for the Jewish present and future. These texts offer not only insight for our communal plight, but also share wisdom for our own lives on how we can recognize our own personal tragedies and live with hope for what is yet to come.
