Manager of Client Services

United Chesed of Toronto is a local, charitable organization providing urgent, short-term financial relief to impoverished, Jewish individuals in the GTA.

The Manager of Client Services is responsible for all matters related to client intake and assistance; liaising with donors to raise funds and process donations; as well as liaising with social workers and other social organizations on behalf of clients.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to

  • Assessing new and managing current clients in a sensitive, caring manner and with a discerning eye
  • Determining the most appropriate way of assisting clients within the mandate of the organization and according to its policies and procedures
  • Determining and connecting clients with other suitable and beneficial agencies and organizations
  • Tracking, recording and continuously updating client data
  • Reaching out to and nurturing relationships with private donors to raise funds in a confidential manner on behalf of clients
  • Process various forms of donations, tax receipts and letters of acknowledgement according to CRA guidelines


  • At least 2 years of administrative and client/customer service experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proficiency in CRM and/or donor management software
  • Experience with online mass email marketing platforms
  • Comfortable with new technologies and software
  • Proficiency in typical, office administrative tasks, e.g. emailing, filing, scanning, copying, faxing
  • Ability and willingness to learn quickly and on-the-go and seek guidance when needed
  • Personable with an easy-going personality and a caring and professional demeanour
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to work on multiple, concurrent tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to keep level-headed and focused in stressful situations
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with Judaism, its practices and the Toronto Jewish community
  • Dedication toward bettering the lives of those in need in the community


  • Post-secondary degree and/or work experience in social work or a related field
  • Experience with fundraising and/or grant writing
  • Ability to speak multiple languages, especially Hebrew and Russian.
