Among those without enough food in Israel are Holocaust survivors, immigrants, the elderly, single parent families, youth at risk, and those who work but do not earn enough to cover their basic needs. Leket Israel rescues fresh produce, prepared meat meals, and other nutritious food that would otherwise woud be wasted and gives it to the poor. Leket works with over 200 non-profits throughout the country to provide nutritious food to over 175,000 needy Israelis weekly of all ethnic backgrounds, races, and religions. To carry out its activities Leket operates two logistics centers, 10 food cargo trucks, employs over 100 staff and mobilizes 60,000 volunteers annually.
