DOLLARS AT WORK:

Former Soviet Union

This Passover, consider the plight of Jews living in the Former Soviet Union (FSU), particularly the 22,500 who live in Kishinev, Moldova, the FSU's poorest country. For many of these men, women and children putting food on the table often presents a challenge, a challenge which is intensified during Passover.

This holiday season, you can make a difference in the life of someone like 78 year-old Sarah Afanasieva, an elderly woman who is isolated and in desperate need of support. With your help, money raised through UJA's Global Seder to Fight Hunger will be allocated through United Israel Appeal Canada to ensure that she and others like her will receive kosher for Passover food allowing her to celebrate the holiday as all Jews should.
