Vancouver’s Debra Karby Needs Our Help
By Daniel Horowitz--Vancouver’s Debra Karby, a 37-year-old mother of two beautiful children, Tobyn, 7 and Sacha, 4, has been living a reality that would be hard for most of us to even fathom, let alone endure.
For several months, Debra has been battling a ruthless and unforgiving foe – liver cancer. There are only two viable options if Debra is to defeat the disease or, at the very least, extend her life, and that is a liver transplant. And, in order to help Debra - who is currently in Toronto undergoing treatment and tests in advance of moving forward with the transplant process - the specialists at Toronto General Hospital have determined it must be from a live donor. The donor must be between the ages of 18 and 60, be in excellent health, and have Type O blood. For more information, please go to the family’s webpage at www.karbys.blogspot.com.
Even if you are not eligible or able to consider being a donor, you can help by widening the network of people aware of this situation. Join the Facebook event and share it with your Facebook friends, or forward this message to your email contacts.
If you are not sure of your blood type, an excellent way to find out is by donating blood.

It is an excellent opportunity to do a mitzvah.
