Remembering a treasured friend and colleague in Melissa “Missy” Daiter z’l

Earlier this month, a bright light in Toronto’s Jewish community was extinguished as a true original – Melissa “Missy” Daiter – passed away following after a courageous fight with cancer.

As our Senior Event Manager, Missy gave UJA Federation an edge in everything she did, be it the most lavish Top or Major Gifts Dinner, or a small group meeting. Missy was a perfectionist with consummate taste. Our donors who hosted events and UJA colleagues who worked with her rightly had complete trust that Missy's efforts would reflect well on them and on UJA Federation. Her work was appreciated by countless individuals who attended events overseen by Missy. It was clear, through her efforts, that Missy cared about the people she worked with, the community and us.

Missy was a wonderful friend and colleague to so many in our UJA Federation family. She was always there to help and offer advice, or just listen. Her wit brought a smile to all, even in the midst of the most stressful events. She made everyone's day better by ensuring the success of every event, and the way she approached collaboration with colleagues made working with her fun.

May Missy's memory be for a blessing.
