UJA celebrates Jewish Disabilities Awareness and Inclusion Month

UJA Federation of Greater Toronto and UJA’s Itanu Toronto are excited to invite you to celebrate our second annual Jewish Disabilities Awareness and Inclusion Month with us this February! Since 2009, North American Jewish Communities have been celebrating Jewish Disability Awareness Month in February, and we are proud to join in the commitment to an inclusive Jewish community where people of all abilities fully participate in educational, spiritual, communal, social and recreational activities.

Making Jewish Life accessible for all is one of most important community responsibilities, and one of greatest community opportunities to benefit from what everyone has to contribute.

UJA Federation’s Itanu Committee is excited to coordinate this month full of events across the GTA including:

Film Screenings
No Shush Kabbalat Shabbat Dinner
Access and Inclusion Shabbat Programming
Art and Theatre Installations
Children’s programming
Community Forum on new national disability legislation
Financial Planning for People with Disabilities Workshop
AND the first Canadian Jewish Disability Advocacy Day on Parliament Hill, Feb. 22nd!
More programs added each day
