Jewish Torontonians among new Order of Canada appointees

At least five Jewish Canadians are among the newest appointees to the Order of Canada, one of the country's highest civilian honours. Established in 1967, the Order recognizes individuals who have made extraordinary and lasting contributions to Canada across a wide range of fields. This year's Jewish Toronto honourees include gynecologic oncologist Dr. Allan Covens, molecular biophysicist Dr. Lewis Kay, and Canadian-Israeli film producer Niv Fichman, alongside two other Jewish Canadian recipients.
