February is Jewish Disability Awareness and Inclusion Month

To raise awareness and foster inclusion for people of all abilities, Jewish organizations and communities around the world mark the month of February as Jewish Disability Awareness and Inclusion Month (JDAIM). Our community is stronger when every member is fully welcomed, respected, and given the opportunity to thrive in all areas of Jewish life.

UJA is proud to highlight some of the important initiatives being run by our partners, including:

  • JVS Toronto’s disability employment and inclusion programs, which support individuals living with disabilities and help them obtain meaningful employment.
  • Jewish Family and Child Service’s SupportAbility program, which provides a range of services to families of children with developmental disabilities to enhance their quality of life.
  • The Jack and Pat Kay Centre Camp inclusion program, which gives children of all abilities the chance to have a memorable camping experience.
  • The Miles Nadal JCC, which has been collecting digital artwork from artists with lived experience of disability. A gallery launch will take place on Thursday, February 5 from 2:00 to 3:30 PM at 750 Spadina Avenue. Register here.
