The Miles Nadal JCC is dedicated to serving the community, cultural, educational and recreational needs of downtown Toronto. Its programs and services are guided by Jewish values and are open to all, regardless of race, origin or religious affiliation.

The MNjcc offers children's programs that develop social, emotional and physical skills. Programs encompass and celebrate all ages and stages of childhood and include quality childcare, nursery, after school and camps as well as quality enrichment and fitness opportunities. Toddlers thrive at the Libbie Cowan Childcare Centre, which operates under the Day Nurseries Act and is open to children 18-30 months of age.

The MNjcc Nursery School emphasizes a Learn Through Play philosophy and features swimming, gym, music, science, cooking and outdoor time in our Natural Playground.  The Phil Granovsky Fitness Centre at the MNjcc offers a heated saltwater pool, whirlpool, steam and sauna; more than 80 group exercise classes per week including spinning, yoga, aquafit, stretch and strength, Kettle Bell, Group Power and more; a Gravity studio; Star Trac, Precor and Expresso cardiovascular machines & Cybex strength training circuit; dedicated free weight studio; a gymnasium and indoor running track; pick-up sports leagues; and personal training and massage therapy.

A vibrant centre of Jewish arts, culture, and study in downtown Toronto, the MNjcc runs a community choir and a women's chorus, Suzuki music classes, a multi-level Hebrew Institute, courses in Jewish Studies, and communal celebrations of major Jewish holidays. The MNjcc also manages the long-running Toronto Jewish Film Society -- a film subscription series with acclaimed critics, writers and filmmakers -- as well as the annual Canadian Jewish Playwriting Competition. The MNjcc houses the Al Green Theatre which presents theatre events, music series, and film programs through rental and co-production.  Active Seniors offers stimulating programs, the company of friends new and old, and a connection to community, while Active 55+ Fitness offers health and wellness programs catering to the needs of the 55+ population.

A hidden gem in the MNjcc, the Michael Bernstein Chapel is a beautiful, intimate 60-seat sanctuary and can be rented out for Yahrzeits, Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, Aufrufs, a Bris or Baby Naming. Morning minyan is run on Thursdays and Sundays and follows the Conservative service.  The MNjcc oversees the Downtown Jewish Community Council, a networking body of more than 40 Jewish schools, prayer communities, social service agencies, and cultural and recreational programs that together make up a diverse, creative, and supportive Jewish community in the heart of the city.

Once known as the Bloor Street Y, the Miles Nadal JCC was built in 1953 at the corner of Bloor and Spadina and was renovated and reopened under the name Miles Nadal JCC in 2003.
