Did you know that, according to Toronto Public Health, more homeless people die in our city during winter than any other season?

During the COVID-19 pandemic, many people have chosen to spend the nights outdoors rather than staying in shelters and risking exposure. With the cold winter months coming, it will be even more challenging to stay outside. We know that one extra layer can make a difference: sleeping bags save lives and we can help.

This is why UJA Genesis is teaming up with Ve’ahavta, a Jewish humanitarian organization that responds to homelessness in Toronto by creating positive changes in the lives of those in need.

How can you help? Donate a sleeping bag! Gently used or new sleeping bags can be delivered to any of our drop-off locations around the city between December 1st and 3rd. For a list of drop-off locations, sign-up below!
