This week, as we hope and pray for the safe return of all hostages and for an end to suffering, our Toronto Jewish community stands together — united in strength, compassion, and unwavering solidarity with the people of Israel.
Let’s fill our city with blue and white — the colours of hope and resilience — to show that Am Yisrael stands as one.
Three Ways to Show Your Support
1. Paint the City Blue & White
- Hang Israeli flags from your home, porch, or balcony.
- Wear blue and white to school, work, and shul.
- Change your outdoor lights to blue and/or white.
- Display a downloadable poster in your window.
- Invite kids to create blue-and-white sidewalk art or hearts of hope.
2. Stand Together in Goodness
- Do a mitzvah in honour of those still waiting to return home — and in memory of those who cannot.
- Deliver a meal or flowers to a neighbour.
- Visit someone who’s feeling isolated.
- Volunteer or donate to support Israel’s recovery and healing efforts.
3. Share the Message
- Post your blue-and-white moments and flags on social media.
- Tag @UJAFederation
- Update your profile picture with an Israeli flag overlay.
- Encourage friends and family to join in.
