Refusing to be Victims - Reflections on Tisha B’Av

Tonight, our community will begin to mark Tisha B’Av—the ninth day of the month of Av—the most sombre day in the Jewish calendar. Throughout the Jewish world, community members will observe a day of fasting and mourning.

As I reflect on this date, I am reminded of the resilience that has defined the Jewish people across generations. Our history is filled with inspiring stories of individuals who have faced unimaginable tragedy with courage, faith, and purpose.

I wish all who are observing a safe and meaningful fast.
