UJA WOMEN'S PHILANTHROPY

LION OF JUDAH

GIVING LEVELS

Within UJA Women’s Philanthropy, there are various giving levels that recognize the generosity and leadership of women in Toronto committed to tzedakah (justice) and tikkun olam (repairing the world). Together, they form a powerful community dedicated to strengthening Jewish life locally and around the world.

Lion of Judah$5,000+

Lion of Judah (LOJ) is an international group of Jewish women who care deeply about the Jewish future, setting a high standard of philanthropic leadership by contributing a minimum annual gift of $5,000 to their local federation. To date, more than $1 billion has been raised through the Lion of Judah program around the globe.

A diverse and dynamic community of philanthropic leaders, Lions of Judah in the GTA comprise more than 1,000 of the 20,000 Lions of Judah worldwide, all deeply committed to strengthening the Jewish future.

For generations, Lions of Judah have proudly worn the beautiful gold pin that bears the internationally recognized symbol of the Lion of Judah. Lions who wish to display their dedication may purchase a gold or a gold-plated pin. As their contribution grows, a gemstone corresponding to the gift level can be added to the pin.

Lion of Judah Step-Up$1,500+

The Lion of Judah (LOJ) Step-Up Program is a five-year journey, gradually leading to becoming a Lion of Judah. In year one, participants in the Lion of Judah Step-Up program begin with a gift of $1,800 and increase incrementally at their own pace, ending with a generous gift of $5,000 in year five.

Participants in the Step-Up program enjoy invitations to Lion events throughout the year. By joining and participating in this program, these women are making a lasting impact in our community.

Lion of Judah Endowment$125,000

The Lion of Judah Endowment (LOJE) program allows Lions of Judah to endow their UJA Annual Campaign donation at the Jewish Foundation, ensuring its impact for future generations. With a minimum commitment of $125,000 via a fund, bequest, or life insurance, a LOJE guarantees at least $5,000 annually to UJA’s campaign forever. It’s a powerful way to establish a lasting legacy of philanthropic leadership and tzedakah.

LOJE donors proudly wear the Or L’Atid flame on their Lion of Judah pin, a symbol of their commitment to Jewish continuity and survival.
