
Member Engagement and High Holy Days Manager
Beth Sholom is a dynamic synagogue with a range of vibrant and creative events and programs. Located at Eglinton and the Allen Road, we are in a thriving area being redeveloped and gentrified. At 1,000 Households and growing with young families, Beth Sholom is positioned to make a significant impact in the Jewish landscape of Toronto. Beth Sholom is undergoing a major Capital Renovation in the early summer of 2026 that will be a game-changer for synagogue engagement in the Cedervale/Forest Hill areas.
The Opportunity
Beth Sholom is seeking a full-time Member Engagement and High Holy Day Manager. This position reports to the Executive Director.
As a member-based religious organization, Beth Sholom places a strong emphasis on service. This role approaches all aspects of membership as a form of service, partnering closely with staff and clergy, and responding thoughtfully and sensitively to member needs to ensure the a high level of member retention and satisfaction.
This position is responsible for various duties, but not limited to:
- Oversee and manage the entire membership renewal process
- Maximize member satisfaction, initiating member engagement strategies in partnership with the Member Engagement Team and relevant committees. Such items include, but are not limited to: life-cycle milestone recognition, holiday baskets, welcome initiatives for first-year members, etc
- Prospective and new member relations – create new membership kit (in partnership with the Manager of Communications) and track prospective members
- Maintain all aspects of membership data of Shul Cloud
- Prepare membership reports for the purpose of data-driven strategic planning
- Manage the sale of HHD tickets, and seat assignments
- Communicate with non-members to purchase HHD seats. Build relationships and encourage membership. Create membership strategies for encouraging non-member HHD seat purchasers to join
The ideal candidate will have experience working with member-related data-base software such as shul cloud, salesforce, etc…Knowledge of the Jewish community, Jewish ritual, history and customs, and the Hebrew language would be a tremendous asset. Excellent customer service skills, highly organized and detail-oriented attributes are a must. Ability to manage and thrive in a fast-paced work environment, contribute to the staff team and be team player, and have a strong work ethic.
