City Shul: A Jewish Heart

We are a group of downtown Jews who have created a welcoming, inclusive, innovative, spiritual congregation whose goal is to enrich the downtown Toronto Jewish community and to enliven downtown Jewish life both personally and communally.  Our mission is to create pathways to explore and live an engaged, connected Jewish life.

We offer Shabbat morning services at least twice per month, High Holidays services, and adult and family programming, and we operate a supplementary school for Kindergarten to B’Mitzvah that meets Wednesday from 4:30-6:30 PM.

There is a lot of joyful singing and Hebrew liturgy, there are kids and teens involved; we are a place where folks without kids or empty nesters feel engaged and where congregational participation is the norm. We are a shul where tradition meets modernity in a happy co-existence. We welcome anyone looking for a diverse and proudly Jewish community who wishes to be a part of a vibrant, caring synagogue is welcome, and makes up the unique character of City Shul.

We are affiliated with the Union for Reform Judaism, drawing from its vast array of resources and its dedication to inclusion. We invite you to become involved!
