While studying for a Science degree, Alex was introduced to the world of real estate in 1972 and it was love at first sight! His career objectives changed overnight but he continued with his course of studies and graduated from York University the following year with a B.Sc. degree. In 1974 he received his broker’s license and opened up Alex Pilarski Real Estate, becoming one of the youngest real estate brokers in Canada.
While youth and exuberance are admirable qualities, there was still a lot of experience to be learned and so he gave up his brokerage and joined one of Canada’s premier real estate companies as a manager in 1979. Under his management, his branch rose to become the #1 branch in Canada.
In 1985 he co-founded RE/MAX Realtron with his brother Richard. Together they have been awarded many top honors within the RE/MAX system, including Multiple Office Brokers of the Year, #1 RE/MAX in the world in 2012 (most transactions), International Broker Owners of the Year as well as the Prestigious Distinguished Service Award.
Alex has served on many committees of the Toronto Real Estate Board, including Ethics, Arbitration, MLS as well as the Vice Chairman of the Ethics Committee.
Along with the duties of managing corporate RE/MAX Realtron, he coaches the sales associates to the next level of their career and is a certified mentor with Buffini and Company as well as Rich Robbins International.
Alex is an avid athlete enjoying golf, tennis, basketball, and skiing.
