We are pleased to invite you to our 2024 Top Gifts Dinner—an annual gathering honouring UJA’s most philanthropic leaders. Because of you, our community continues to be at the forefront of leading global Jewry, especially in times of crisis—October 7th was no different.

Hear from three important voices throughout the evening—all heroes in their own right—who have been imperative in the global fight for Jewish rights and survival:

  • Eylon Levy, a former spokesman for the Israeli government and international media advisor to Israel’s President. Today, Eylon is a world-leading voice in speaking up for Israel and the rights of the Jewish people.
  • Hagar Brodutch, who was kidnapped by Hamas on October 7th alongside her three young children. For 51 days, Hagar and her family were held hostage in Gaza. Released in late November, she is sharing her story of survival with the world. We were honoured to host her brother-in-law at our Bring Them Home rally at Beth Tzedec in November. He told us about the family’s connections to Toronto—including that one of Hagar’s children, Ofri, attended Camp Gesher in 2022.
  • Shabbos Kestenbaum, a Harvard student suing the university for failing to protect Jewish students on campus in the wake of October 7th. At a time when university campuses are a cesspool of antisemitism, Shabbos is one of the Jewish world’s most passionate and outspoken college activists.

It has never been so important to gather as a strong committed Jewish community. Now more than ever, we are proudly Jewish. We hope you and your family will join us at this year's Top Gifts Dinner to celebrate your heroic leadership at this critical time.

He previously served as the international media advisor for President Isaac Herzog after a career as a TV news anchor. Born and raised in the UK, he studied at the universities of Oxford and Cambridge before making Aliyah. He is now the host of the State of a Nation podcast.

Hagar Brodutch

Hagar Brodutch was kidnapped by Hamas on October 7th alongside her three young children. For 51 days, Hagar and her family were held hostage in Gaza. Released in late November, she is now sharing her story of survival with the world. UJA was honoured to host her brother-in-law at our Bring Them Home rally at Beth Tzedec in November. He told us about the family’s connections to Toronto—including that one of Hagar’s children, Ofri, attended Camp Gesher in 2022.

Shabbos Kestenbaum
