UJA Federation’s Hurricane Irma Relief Fund

Last week, Hurricane Irma's path of destruction traveled through the Caribbean resulting in 48 deaths. On Sunday night, Irma unleashed its fury on Florida with 290 km/h winds leaving some seven million homes without power, and a trail of tornadoes and flooding as its core moved inland.

Right now, emergency officials are working to assess the damage this storm has inflicted on the people of Florida, leaving many inhabitants without access to food and water. More than 160,000 people are believed to remain in shelters across the state.

Help us help the victims of Tropical Storm Irma, by donating to the Hurricane Irma Relief Fund

With Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur just around the corner, many Jewish families are just now returning to their homes, to assess the damage. Florida’s Jewish community, and Jewish communities throughout the southern United States, are desperately scrambling to find places to hold services for the High Holidays.  We have a responsibility to help families in need, regardless of background, with basic needs and also help ensure Jewish families are able to celebrate the holidays.

One hundred percent of funds raised will be used for victims of Hurricane Irma. Donations will fund urgent needs and relief efforts. UJA Federation is raising funds for this relief effort, to support communities and individuals, together with other Jewish Federations across Canada and the United States. Please give now.
