How Donor Support Is Reaching Israelis This Passover

As millions of Israelis move in and out of shelters under constant threat, donor support is making a tangible difference—delivering both urgent assistance and moments of human connection during an extraordinarily difficult time.

In the lead-up to Passover, UJA’s Partnership2Gether initiative in Eilat/Eilot helped bring comfort and dignity to those most affected. Together with The Jewish Agency for Israel and Reverse ShinShinit Shoshana, Passover fruit platters were distributed to evacuated families and individuals injured during the war. Each delivery carried not only holiday provisions, but a message of solidarity from the Toronto Jewish community—reminding recipients that they are not alone.

In a reality defined by disruption and uncertainty, even small gestures can have a profound impact. As families prepare for Passover—some celebrating in shelters, others far from home—this support brings moments of light, care, and connection into an otherwise challenging time.

The Current Reality on the Ground

  • 6,100+ injured
  • 6,000+ displaced across 40+ municipalities
  • Hospitals operating in full emergency mode, including underground facilities
  • Rising levels of anxiety, trauma, and stress, especially among children and families
  • Growing need for housing support, financial assistance, and essential services

As Passover begins, the holiday’s themes of resilience and freedom take on deeper meaning. Even in the face of ongoing challenges, communities continue to come together—supported by partners and donors who ensure that people are met with compassion, dignity, and care.
