The OHR Network: UJA's Mentorship Program

“The most important forms of leadership come not with position or title…but with the willingness to work with others to achieve what we cannot do alone. It helps change people into people who can change the world.” — Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks zt"l

The Ohr Network is UJA’s mentorship program.

Ohr, meaning "light" in Hebrew, reflects the role mentors play as guiding lights for their mentees. Since the events of October 7, 2023, it has become even more vital to have a safe, professional space in which to be Jewish.

The Ohr Network supports early to mid-career professionals (ages 21+) from across industries in strengthening their Jewish identity and advancing their careers by thoughtfully pairing them with established industry leaders.

How it works:

  • Interested mentors and mentees must submit an application by August 31st for the mentorship cohort taking place from October 2026 to March 2027*.
  • Please note that submitting an application does not guarantee a mentorship match.
  • Mentors and mentees are required to attend two in-person networking events in Toronto.
  • Mentors and mentees are expected to meet one on one at least three times during the program, either virtually or in person.
  • Mentor-mentee matches are based on the information provided in the application. A virtual coffee chat with the program administrator may be requested to support the matching process.
  • Once matched, mentors and mentees will receive a program guide with expectations, goal-setting resources, meeting tips, and more.

Our goal is to create meaningful matches based on factors such as industry, education, and interests. While we will do our best to pair applicants, matches are not guaranteed. Participants will be notified by email if and when a match is made.

*An additional cohort will take place starting March 2027—applications will open for this cohort in the new year.

Please apply by Monday, August 31st!
