The Consulate General of Israel in Toronto

The Consulate General of Israel in Toronto is the official representative of the Government of Israel to Ontario and Western Canada. In addition to providing consular services, the Consulate promotes cooperation between Israel and Canadian partners in government and across civil society in fields of mutual interest, including hi-tech and innovation, commercial affairs, arts and culture, and inter-community relations. Central to the Consulate’s role is its work to nurture and enhance the unique and crucial relationship between the Jewish community and the State of Israel. Both through its own programming and by partnering with community organizations, the Consulate seeks to build a rich and inclusive array of individual and communal engagement with Israel designed to strengthen both Israel and the community at one and the same time. The Consulate’s work is led by Consul General DJ Schneeweiss (photo middle), Deputy Consul General Irit Stopper (photo right) and Consul Assaf Bracha (photo left).

“We’re extremely grateful for this recognition. We attach great importance to the Consulate’s work in the community in general, and with UJA Federation’s Israel Engagement Initiative in particular, and it is rewarding to know that this work is appreciated. It is our conviction that a strong and vibrant connection to Israel is a key source of communal unity and strength, and we are proud to partner with UJA Federation and its Israel Engagement Committee in promoting this shared vision.”
