“I remember the first time I went to Israel on a UJA mission. I was amazed at the extensive involvement of our Toronto Jewish Community in so many Israel projects, and how often I saw the ‘Granovsky’ name! As I look at the contributions Phil Granovsky z”l made to Toronto’s Jewish Community and to Israel, I am humbled and honoured to be part of the prestigious group of recipients of this award. Philanthropic activities, whether by way of time given, financial support or by professional advice, should be undertaken to the best of our ability simply because they are the right thing to do as Jews. My wife and children, by way of their involvement in various community projects, continue to inspire me. Our family has been blessed with our ability to give back to the community, Israel and the Jewish people and we will, G-d willing, continue to do so. Thank you all for this honour
