Overview of the Position

The National Director of Outreach and Programming is responsible for creating, organizing, and implementing programming that advances CJPAC’s mission – including the flagship Fellowship, Generation: Student Leaders, and Advanced Campaign Training programs.

The successful candidate will be a key ambassador for the organization, driving CJPAC’s efforts to engage more Jewish Canadians and allies than ever before in the political process.

Reporting to the Managing Director, this key role is both a motivator – leading the Programming team – and a highly organized event planner. The National Director will be responsible for both creation of program content, and CJPAC’s overall programming and outreach strategy.

The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm and diligence to the role, combining a grasp of the big picture with meticulous attention to detail. An ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and demanding environment will be essential.

Responsibilities

  • Provide coaching and leadership to the Programming and Outreach team.
  • Oversee the design and implementation of national programming initiatives including the CJPAC Fellowship, Generation program, and campaign training programs.
  • Work closely with CJPAC’s regional offices to support their programming and outreach initiatives.
  • Maintain close working relationships with partner organizations including (but not limited to) Federations, synagogues, and schools to connect community members with CJPAC initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with key allied communities across Canada.
  • Represent CJPAC at various community events, conferences, and other gatherings.
  • Plan and execute a range of virtual and in-person events, including CJPAC’s annual Toronto ACTION Party.
  • Design strategy, goals, and manage budget for programming and outreach initiatives.
  • Ensure effective coordination and follow-through between the Programming & Outreach team and other teams within CJPAC.
  • Set program metrics and continuously evaluate programming for alignment with CJPAC’s strategic priorities.
  • Recruit, hire, and supervise summer and school-year interns.
  • Maintain relationships with some key donors, and act as a concierge to help them engage effectively in CJPAC initiatives and the political process.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Candidate Profile:

CJPAC is seeking a senior team member with a growth mindset, exceptional relationship-building skills, and demonstrated leadership abilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of Canadian politics (including some hands-on campaign experience), at least 5-10 years of work experience, and a deep commitment to CJPAC’s mission. A willingness to travel and flexibility around work hours are essential.

  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.

  • Experience building and working with budgets.

  • Knowledge of Salesforce is a plus.

Location:

This position is based in Toronto. CJPAC maintains a hybrid work environment, with team members in the GTA working in the office two days per week.

Compensation & Benefits:

Compensation will be competitive and commensurate with experience. Medical and dental coverage are provided.

Vacation for this role will be four weeks per year. In addition, CJPAC observes all Jewish holidays.
