With more than 20 years of experience in the elite echelons of the sports industry, Chris Overholt now leads Toronto-based OverActive Media Group, one of the most diverse and powerful esports organizations globally — owning more than seven international esports teams. OAM owns the Toronto Defiant of the Overwatch League, a League of Legends European Championship series franchise and recently won the rights to a Toronto-based Call of Duty World League franchise -- making it the world’s first esports organization to own teams in the three biggest franchised leagues. Chris has established himself as a leading and trusted voice in the worlds of sports and business.
Jamie Firsten is a partner in a business law group at Goodmans. His practice focuses on advising emerging companies in connection with venture financings, M&A, and corporate and commercial law matters, with a main focus on technology companies. Within technology, Jamie is active in the enterprise software and e-sports space.
Michael Kogan leads Canaccord Genuity’s gaming investment practice and has represented a number of leading esports companies, including Luminosity, Enthusiast Gaming and Faze Clan. Michael has extensive investment banking experience in corporate finance, M&A advisory, accounting and taxation across multiple industries. Since joining us in 2007, he has worked on numerous advisory assignments and successful financings representing total value in excess of C$15 billion. Michael is a CFA and CPA charterholder and has a Master’s in Management and Professional Accounting from the University of Toronto.
Menashe began his career in video games when he was 13, writing for IGN, a large gaming media site, where he eventually became a community leader. After studying and subsequently lecturing in the Institute of Advanced Talmudic Law in Jerusalem for eight years, Menashe returned to his passion for the video game industry and launched his first gaming blog, “Nintendo Enthusiast”, in 2011. In 2014, he returned to Toronto and incorporated Enthusiast. He has personally owned and operated gaming websites to a readership of over 2 million gamers, and has led Enthusiast and grown a writing and community staff team of over 84 people.
Arwina Mogul is the CEO of Beam, an eSports tech startup based in Toronto. Arwina was awarded MNP’s Future Business Leader award and her company was selected by the Alibaba Entrepreneurs Fund as a top global startup in advanced technology.
