Canadian Friends of Boys Town Jerusalem is hosting Elon Gold for a night of fun, food and friends. Elon has appeared on the Tonight Show, HBO's Crashing and The Late Late Show with James Corden. The event is taking place on Sunday, September 8, 2019 from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at Adath Israel Congregation, 37 Southbourne Ave. A kosher dessert reception will follow the show. You are invited to come out for a good time in support of a good cause!

Funds raised will support the Dormitory Renovation Project at Boys Town Jerusalem (BTJ), a residential school for over 950 students annually. BTJ was founded 70 years ago. The mission of the school is to turn young boys from limited backgrounds into young men with limitless futures. The students come from impoverished and challenging circumstances - broken homes, poverty, illness and abuse.

The school is one of Israel's premier institutions for educating the country's next generation of leaders. From Junior High through the college level, the students learn from a three part curriculum - academic, technological and Torah. In addition, the students get emotional and psychological support from social workers and psychologists, enjoy three nutritious and delicious meals a day and live with their friends in safe and comfortable dormitory rooms.

Upon graduation, all students are expected to fulfill their military obligations. More than 250 BTJ graduates are now career officers. Others, of the over 7,000 graduates, contribute to Israel’s booming high tech industry; have become Rabbis, government officials or civil servants. Many have gone on to establish careers in education, engineering, medicine, law, and accounting.

The experience at Boys Town not only provides the students with the knowledge and skills to lead, it is also designed to instill in them outstanding moral standards and a sense of responsibility.
