A Temple Sinai Program: Big Questions about Israel with Rabbi Lawrence Englander
Why are there no serious efforts toward peace between Israel and the Palestinians? Why does the Israeli government ignore the concerns of liberal Jews — for example, the egalitarian prayer space at the Kotel? Why are so many diaspora Jews, especially the younger generations, distancing themselves from Israel and Zionism? Our discussions on these and other “big questions” will be based on the new book, The Fragile Dialogue: New Voices of Liberal Zionism, co-edited by Rabbi Englander and Rabbi Stanley Davids. Time: May 28th at 7:00 p.m.; June 4th at 5:30 p.m. and July 11th at 7:00 p.m. Cost: Members: Free; Non-Members: $10 per session. Participants are encouraged to obtain the hard copy (available at the Temple office for $18) or ebook. For more information and to register, please call the Temple Office at 416-487-4161 or email programs@templesinai.net.
