Holy Blossom Temple's "Impact of COVID-19 on Refugees in Canada"

12:00PM - 1:00PM

Presented by JIAS Toronto in partnership with Holy Blossom Temple

Impact of COVID-19 on Refugees in Canada
As the COVID-19 pandemic has spread, refugees and displaced people around the world have been disproportionately impacted by the virus – due to poverty, high-density living conditions, border closures, and other factors.

Join JIAS Toronto’s Executive Director Elise Herzig to learn more about the impact of COVID-19 on refugees in Canada. A dynamic panel will address both the big picture and day-to-day issues, including how tightened borders and shifting policies are affecting refugee claimants, how refugee support networks have adapted their efforts, and the challenges/setbacks that refugees who have suffered prior trauma are facing in this new era.
