If you are a young, religious, Zionist girl looking for a meaningful year of volunteering and independence, immersed in the Israeli Sherut Leumi program, Shalem is the program for you. Shalem is an uplifting, inspiring, and empowering Year of Service with Bnei Akiva. Learn new skills, develop your Jewish Identity, adapt to new environments, and play a meaningful part in contributing to Israeli society. The core of the SHALEM program is Sherut Leumi (National service), volunteering with other girls in Meir Hospital. In addition to your “Sherut” you will be enjoying a variety of programming which will allow you to live and experience the pulse of the land and state of Israel. Maccabi World Union

The program will offer you a chance to learn Hebrew (Ulpan), learn and connect to your Jewish roots through learning experiences and exploring Israel, and most importantly volunteer in Israeli sports & educational organizations who are dedicated to social change and instilling values through sport. Kibbutz Volunteer

Volunteers can stay for 8 to 12 months and volunteer 5 days per week. Volunteers have opportunities to work in a variety of trades and industries; including agriculture, animal services, factories, tourism and education.  Learn More
