"Volunteering helps change the world because it changes us" - Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks

For more than 100 years UJA Federation has provided philanthropic leadership to the Jewish community. Our initiatives encompass a broad spectrum of charitable service, including caring for the most vulnerable among us, education, celebration and support for Israel, We are successful in our efforts at ‘Tikkun Olam’ because our community has - throughout the centuries, made giving back an essential Jewish value.

Nowhere is this idealism more apparent than in the efforts of the hundreds of people who volunteer their talents and energy to further the work of UJA every year. They donate their time to support programs ranging from Telethons and Walkathons to helping immigrants learn English and delivering Meals on Wheels, and so much more.

Our volunteers are busy people who, like the rest of us, must juggle their families and careers. But they still manage to carve out precious time to benefit the wider community in an uncompromising commitment to their belief that we have a shared responsibility to take care of one another.
Their dedication is a gift to our community; we could not function without them.
To each and every one of our treasured volunteers: we thank you and appreciate you and everything you do – every program you run, every event you staff and every life you touch, with all our heart.
To all our budding volunteers: we need your enthusiasm and passion for helping our community, and can’t wait to meet you.

With Gratitude,
